I understand the importance of being thoughtful and sensitive in addressing all of your questions to help reassure and comfort you in your journey to wellness. Everyone has a story to tell, and every individual is affected differently by mental health conditions. I am mindful that everyone has a unique perspective, and this affects the way one copes with difficulties. I make no assumptions and believe in remaining open-minded and actively listening at all times. Without such an approach, people can become misunderstood. I believe that simply having an opportunity to tell one's story can be a cathartic, therapeutic experience and is a great first step to pursuing mental health treatment. Only through thoughtful and meaningful discussion can both the patient and the doctor collectively arrive at a holistic and accurate understanding of one's unique circumstances and needs. Whether it's your first time seeking treatment, you need another psychiatrist, or if you're just not sure what to do and where to turn, I'm here to help you regain control and stability in your life. To ensure that you get a quality experience, I'm relatable, understanding, and transparent, and I aim to support and inspire patients towards their treatment goals.
There are often many ways to approach treatment goals. I like to explore this in depth. I firmly believe in educating the patient on their condition and treatment options. I also believe that straightforward and transparent discussions can enlighten a person on what it takes to get better and what challenges might get in the way of treatment. Remaining in touch with sound treatment principles but also maintaining creativity and humility in problem solving allows for treatment to be tailored to every individual.
Due to the nature of mental health conditions, the course of treatment often requires patience and persistence from both the patient and the doctor. The ups and downs of treatment progress, mental health conditions, and inevitably, life, can take its toll. That's why I believe in being supportive throughout one's treatment. Motivation is critical and this goes hand in hand with persistence to stay on track with the treatment plan to improve treatment outcomes and to develop insight and mindfulness of one's challenges and the big picture about how such challenges can be overcome.
